A TAILORED 8-WEEK GROUP PROGRAM TO BOOST YOUR SPANISH
A TAILORED 8-WEEK GROUP PROGRAM TO BOOST YOUR SPANISH
BECAUSE SURVIVING IS NOT THE SAME AS LIVING!
This course is designed for those who are soon-to-be or have recently become expats who need to start connecting with the Spanish language to get the most out of their experience.
Why is this program perfect for expats? The program combines language and culture: while you learn the language, you learn all about Spain’s do’s and don’ts to avoid misunderstandings and improve your experience.
Learning a foreign language is like wearing a pair of glasses that allow you to see new colours that you simply couldn’t see before. And this is what makes living abroad so wonderful!
Stop wasting time – I’ll cut right to the chase when organizing your learning goals.
It can be tough to stay motivated when learning a language on your own.
I’ll select useful vocabulary and the right grammar structures to help you make the most of your expat adventure.
I know what’s relevant and what isn’t, which will save you the trouble and time of searching online.
Despite the many resources out there, without the right study plan, you can easily get overwhelmed.
We’ll discuss cultural differences that are reflected in the language. Being aware of these differences can prevent many misunderstandings once you’re in Spain.
This program is specially oriented to all the situations you might encounter when you arrive in Spain.
This course uses with clear, visual and simply explanations, focused on the most important aspects of grammar and vocabulary. Activities are provided for you to complete, so you can anchor your learning.
With this course, you will build a strong foundation in the Spanish language.
You will find downloadable worksheets for each unit, providing you with easy reminders to refer throughtout your learning progress.
Each week, a live 60-minute group meeting is scheduled, where each lesson focuses on a particular communication situation in Spanish.
Our meetings are a way to practice speaking, and to review activities you previously completely in the self-paced video course.
If you can’t join a webinar live – no problem, they’re all recorded.
¡Hola! My name is Alicia, and I’m a professional teacher from Spain, I’ve already helped hundreds of students boost their skills.
You’ve come to the right place if you want a more in-depth experience of the language, and to feel more integrated when you are in Spain.
I’ve spent my entire career studying the psychology behind learning languages, as well as teaching and applying the techniques that best help people like you express themselves clearly.
I love making difficult challenges feel easy.
Direct, relaxed, friendly: Are these the defining characteristics of Spanish culture?
What are the unwritten rules in Spain, and which ones will you be likely to come across?
Having poor language proficiency prevents you understanding all that’s happening around you in sufficient detail.
When living abroad, your goal, should be to understand as much as possible, since a lot of the ‘communication material’ around you will be new and potentially full of surprises – good or bad.
During this program, you will not only learn the language, but also get to know the country’s customs, culture and mentality.
*Live meetings will take place at 6pm, 7pm or 8pm, (Madrid time). The day is not fixed yet because it will depend on the groups
This program includes:
connect and make your first friends
COMMUNICATE in bars and restaurants like a local
talk to bank clerks and public officials
interact effectively when shopping
Feel more confident when you talk to native speakers
not get LOST (too much) in conversations with landlords or doctors
The first thing is to know your level of Spanish to find the right group for you.
Here you can find the level test. Then, I will contact you to give you a personalized feedback and give you the access keys to the perfect videocourse for your level.
You will see that the course is divided into 10 sessions.
Session 0 has some basic grammar info you should know before starting. You may already know it or you may need to review it, so I encourage you to work on this part as soon as possible to better integrate the concepts.
Session 1 has the contents that we will use during Session 1 live meeting, you can review them during the first week or you can take a look at them starting today. And so on with the other sessions.
This isn’t mandatory, but it is recommended so you don’t feel overwhelmed with so much new information. 💪🏻
Session 9 does not belong to any live session, it is simply tips and recommendations when studying Spanish.
Live meetings will be held weekly and will be recorded.
You can come to the meetings and practice everything you have learned during the week.
Each meeting corresponds to a specific topic about daily-life and culture in Spain.
After each class, I will send you the recording and a document with the extra material used during the meeting.
Well, everything will depend on the number of groups.
But the meetings will be at 6pm, 7pm or 8pm (Madrid time) so that our friends from the west coast can join us.
In that case, you’ll get access to different programs, and payment is made separately.
If you want to do the program together, you can take advantage of the family price, which offers a 20% discount.
You’ll have access to the video course with two different login details, so you can each follow at your own pace. You will have access to the live sessions to practice, followed by the recodings of each session.
Of course, you both have access to individual corrections, and can ask me any questions (grammar or otherwise) questions throughtout the program.
At the moment, the program with the video course only covers levels A1 and A2.
If your level is higher, we can work together with private lessons. Here is the information about the prices. https://yohablotuhablas.com/spanish-courses-online/
I usually like to offer a free 30 minute session to get to know each other. So, if you are interested, please contact me at alicia@yohablotuhablas.com and we’ll schedule a meeting.
Some exercises will be more complex than others but, on average, you’ll need about an hour each day.
You can do the activities daily or save them up to do them all on the weekend. However, I don’t recommend letting to many pile up on you!
There is no individual support, although I will be on hand to better understand any issues you have and to then improve the video tutorials and exercices, as well as to solve general issues, if I can see that you haven’t understood something.
I’m happy to correct all your exercises during the 8 weeks of the program.
You can try this program for 15 days and if you see that it’s not what you were looking for, just write to us at info@yohablotuhablas.com within this period and we will refund you the full amount without asking for any explanations.
Happy students only!
